I purchased the GMMK2 65% in white. This is a nice little barebones keyboard kit. Silver aluminum top plate, plastic bottom, white pcb. LED strip down both left and right side of the keyboard. The aluminum top frame is extremely easy to scratch, and a little warped (warping not really an issue when screwed into plastic bottom). Installed switches are very tight and stable in the frame. This is good and bad, if not careful you can break switches removing them. The LED aren't very bright, and are north facing. The sound dampening on the inside is a single piece of poron. Other than the abundance of screws (seriously too many...) this is an extremely beginner friendly barebones to work with. The stabilizers that come with the kit aren't great. The housings wobble in the frame, and the stems themselves have way too much wiggle room. The wires arent well balanced and there is pronounced ticking from most of the ends. The factory lube was not great but not overdone, you can easily fix it by adding more.Putting aftermarket stabilizers on this board can be difficult, as many aftermarket don't fit without modification. Aftermarket GSV2 stabs by Glorious fit fine, but are overpriced vs other (better/cheaper) options in 2024.Once fully assembled with new stabilizers, poron switch pads, and teflon stab pads, this board can sound really good with the right switches. Although it is not my favorite board, multiple people have told me that my build with oil kings in the gmmk2 sounds the best of all my keyboards (this makes me sad...)The latency of this board, while advertised at 2ms, is nowhere near it. This isn't really a surprise as most keyboards don't actually test near their claimed latency. This is not a gaming keyboard, not close. If you are a casual gamer it will be fine, but any number of other (cheaper) options will be better. The Glorious core software is awful. And probably the worst part of the keyboard. While it doesn't support gmk/via natively, if you know what you are doing it is possible. Glorious even offers instructions to help in the process, which is a nice surprise and unusual for a manufacturer.Glorious themselves have always been really easy to deal with (unlike 90% of custom keyboard manufacturers). This is a HUGE bonus and you may find paying a premium for better customer service is worth it.TLDR:Great beginner/experiment board but you can get a lot better for cheaper in 2024. Glorious as a company are normally easy to deal with if you have problems.
